An event entitled “Adventism and Catholicism in a Changing World: Can They Learn From Each Other,” which had been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on October 12 at Loma Linda University’s Damazo Ampitheater, has apparently been cancelled. The Loma Linda website indicates that it has been cancelled. There was no explanation as to why it was cancelled (or why it was planned in the first place).
We drew attention to this planned event in this article. The speakers were to have been Reinder Bruinsma (a Dutch SDA theologian), Denis Fortin (professor of theology and former Dean of the SDA Seminary at Andrews), and a Roman Catholic priest named Romanus Ike, who is a hospital chaplain at Loma Linda. It was sponsored by the Loma Linda University Center for Understanding World Religions and Humanities.
