You Will Own Nothing and Like It
There is another aspect to this event that needs to be discussed and remedied. Dr. Vine and Pastor Kelly will be speaking at an off site venue. Why? Because they cannot bring them into an SDA church.
Seventh-day Adventists are expected to purchase the property that the church sits on and pay for the buildings, fix the roofs, clean the sidewalks, paint the walls, replace carpets, and repair the plumbing leak in the bathroom and remodel the building as needed. Mow the yard, spray roundup around the trees, maintain the parking lots, and pay the insurance and heat and light bills. Do it all.
And then we’re not allowed to listen to a Seventh-day Adventist speaker that we want to hear in that same building, if a partisan conference president doesn’t like him. You must pay for everything and own nothing.
Friends, this is ecclesiastical serfdom. It is used by conference presidents to force congregations to submit to their personal likes, dislikes and agenda.
And it is morally and ethically wrong.
