Australia Is Coming for Christian Schools Who Discriminate Against LGBTQ People

April 24, 2023 Gerry Wagoner

At the hands of activist lawmakers, Australia has become one of the most pro gay countries in the world.

For instance, the State of Victoria Premier (Daniel Andrews) and his leftist labor party recently introduced legislation that says parents who help their children resolve gender confusion/dysphoria may be committing a legal offence.

In government schools throughout Australia, children are encouraged to explore their sexuality by activist teachers and politicians.

But what about church schools? They are being pressured to hire teachers who are in line with LGBTQ values rather than Christian values. Daniel Andrews is also trying to force Christian schools to be inclusive in how they elect student leaders. These students may not reflect the school’s Christian values.

The Australian Law Reform Commission sought feedback from numerous Religious schools on how proposed laws against discrimination might affect them. The feedback was submitted yesterday.

The heads of the Presbyterian, Jewish, Catholic, Islamic and Seventh-day Adventist religions all responded to the request.

Presbyterian: “The example given in the review of an LGBTQ student being elected as school captain is a case in point. If this student were in an active same-sex relationship, they would not be able to give appropriate Christian leadership in a Christian school which requires modelling Christian. This would also be the case for a student in a sexually active unmarried heterosexual relationship.”

Catholic: “We require many teachers and staff at the school to be prayerful practising Catholics, committed to their faith and able to speak about it, when called to do so, in an engaging and respectful manner.”

Islamic: “Religious education organizations should be free to have the rules, policies, and procedures of the education institution in accordance with the principles of that religion without exception.”

Jewish: It is fundamental to Judaism that each school maintain the ability to preserve the character of their school by the preferencing and or restricting enrollment of students as per their criteria.

Seventh-day Adventist: “Under the proposed changes religious schools and colleges can no longer apply conduct or speech rules to their staff in the areas of sexual activity or gender identity, except for theological colleges training clergy for formal ordination.”

Observations

  • Heterosexual marriage has been the bedrock of Western civilization for two millennia.  Prior to that, the Greco-Roman pagan world allowed all kinds of sexual expressions and views of the divine.  In its understanding of both God and Man, the West is now returning to those pagan morals-in the name of freedom, love, civil rights, diversity and equality.

  • Cultural Marxism and social justice has become the Bible of the westernized world, creating a neo-pagan culture of leftism. Leftism is enthralled with itself and it's own self importance. It has become the conduit for every whim of moral evil that it's participants can think up. And like it's cousin, public education, it pictures itself as more sensitive, more informed, more enlightened, and more open than those who live their life observing basic Biblical truths.

  • The Presbyterian statement is the most courageous and unwavering. It earned them the displeasure of a pro-gay neo-pagan culture that is hostile to biblical values. They don’t seem to mind.

  • The Jewish statement is clear on their need to discriminate on enrollment, and the Islamic statement is the strongest non-Christian statement.

  • The Seventh-day Adventist statement is vague, appearing to roll over to the government, a trick no doubt learned in their response to the Covid edicts.

  • If we don't stand up for God's sacred gender and sexual distinctions, where will we find the courage to stand up for God's sacred worship distinctions?

  • We seem to be losing the corporate moral willpower/ability to stand up for our beliefs. Knuckling under to domineering leftist governments is not building up muscles of resolve for the last days but rather the blubber of capitulation.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Ephesians 5:11).
