Mike Ryan is a former Vice President of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Many people remember Mike as the moderator of the 2015 San Antonio GC Session vote on ordaining women.
In this interview, he discusses the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church, presenting the strategies of evangelism that the church has adopted.
He covers the achievements of the Faith and Science Council, and advises people on how to get actively involved in the work of the Church.
His comments on the Book of Genesis are around the 12-minute mark in the video. They are well worth viewing.
Ryan was elected to serve on the AAA accreditation board at the 2022 Annual Council this week. This is the first time that church administrators have been placed on that board, providing a unique opportunity for reformation among our Adventist education institutions. Some of you may recall Andrea Luxton complaining about this change on Sunday afternoon of this week.
Adventist educators have long enjoyed a closed system of oversight (AAA) that tends to ‘look out for each other’, — essentially a self-licking ice cream cone. One evidence of that occurred in 2013 when La Sierra continued to be accredited by AAA (under Lisa Hardy) in spite of their favorable view of macro evolution under Randall Wisbey.
