Spiritualism Update: Irish Woman Marries The Ghost of 300-Year Old Pirate

Hello me lads, ChurchMouse here, reporting on a rather odd betrothal between a spousal strumpet and permeable pirate across the Irish Sea in Ireland!  Shiver me timbers, she's dropped a loop (or two).

Ireland native and divorced mother of five Amanda Teague, is going global for marrying her ‘soulmate’, (pardon the pun) Jack, who just so happens to be the ghost of a 300-year-old pirate.  I expect she can see right through the blighter..

The nutty newlywed says she first met Jack the ghost in 2014, when he appeared beside her bed – and after two years of courtship, things got properly serious between them.  She told The UK Mirror:

I told him I wasn’t really cool with having casual sex with a spirit, and I wanted us to make a proper commitment to each other.  If I am going to be in a long-term relationship with somebody I have the right to be married.

The ceremony took place in a boat off the Irish coast, in international waters, where she thought the marriage would be legal (according to Snopes, the marriage isn't legal).

A medium was sought out so Jack could give his verbal consent, and his ring was fitted on a candle in place of his hand.  The "couple" has since bought a home together, and Teague says they have sex and go on dates:

You can feel the weight of the spirit, their touch, the pressure. You can literally feel the physical act of what the spirit is doing to you, and the spirit can feel it too.

…He can’t eat or drink, but he can sense it through me, it is called ‘embodiment."  I can order Jack a drink and allow him to feel it through me, or he can taste my food.

Amanda says she and Jack are co-writing a book to help other simpletons, eh .... singletons .... find love with a spirit (demon).  Huh!  The book will have a---wait for it---ghost writer.

This benighted woman--who insists that she is not a fruitcake--is fulfilling prophecy.  We are told--for instance--that in the last days perilous times would come (2 Timothy 3:1-4).  We are warned to have nothing do do with spirits of the dead, which are demons masquerading as departed people (Ephesians 5:11; Deut. 18:10-14).

We are told that the doctrine of the immortal soul (consciousness in death) has prepared the way for modern spiritualism.  Thus fallen angels do the bidding of Satan to bring a bewitching influence upon the minds of men (and women) (Great Controversy, chapter 34).

I for one, am grateful for the liberating truths that God has bequeathed us in the Advent Message.  The truth about the state of the dead, for instance, is poised to become a most welcome corrective in the broken GPS of Last Day disorientation.  Keep the truth close, and give it a good brush regularly!

"The living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing" (Ecclesiastes 9:5).

Cheerio,
