SILVER SPRING, MD—The Executive Board of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International announces that its President, Michael Kruger, will be stepping down on April 1. Kruger is leaving after more than ten years of service to the organization.
Kruger will be taking on a new role as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Adventist Healthcare White Oak in Calverton, MD.
ADRA will begin a search for a new president, ensuring a smooth transition in leadership.
Observations
ADRA has come under renewed scrutiny in the last 10 days following national news media revelations about the Biden Administration using NGO’s to help facilitate illegal immigration into America’s southern border. ADRA is one of these NGO’s according to this whistleblower report from CIS.
On May 10, 1985 the GC, was recognized as an NGO of the United Nations. In his keynote address on Thursday June 27, 1985 at the GC Session in New Orleans, Neal Wilson announced (to applause) that the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists was now an NGO with the United Nations. ADRA is the vehicle of this NGO.
Fifteen years later (2000), the undersecretary of the United Nations, Joseph Smith, addressed the delegates at the GC Session in Toronto.
ADRA, according to CIS reports, receives large sums of cash from USAID.
51 million in 2021
32 million in 2022
10 million in 2023
two unspecified grants in 2024
Department of Government Efficiency
The new Department of Government Efficiency which aims to slash wasteful federal spending, investigated the USAID office in Washington DC on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, USAID’s website went dark and a new page for the agency appeared on the State Department website. USAID’s X account also went offline Saturday.
DOGE Director Elon Musk called USAID “incredibly politically partisan” and said it has been supporting “radically left causes throughout the world including things that are anti-American.” Musk said USAID is “beyond repair.” We don’t have “an apple with a worm in it,” he said. “We have a ball of worms.”
Here are a few examples of USAID wasteful spending.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says NGOs have been 'perverted into a shadow government'. Under Biden, these NGOs became the middlemen of illegal immigration.
On Sunday, in response to CNN’s report about the Saturday incident, Musk said that “USAID is a criminal organization.” “Time for it to die,” he posted on X.
The administration also placed two top USAID security officials on administrative leave after they refused to allow members of the newly formed advisory office known as the Department of Government Efficiency to enter the building and access USAID’s systems.
Musk posted on Twitter (X) that he will be able to slash one trillion dollars of wasteful spending from the bloated US government spending budget, after wasteful departments are trimmed down to reasonable levels and held to account for how they use (misuse) taxpayer dollars.
There is no indication yet if financial cuts at USAID and revelations about NGO support of illegal immigration are related to personnel changes at ADRA.
